I am trying to plan summer camps and vacations. My planner ends in July. I use an old fashioned paper planner, I think I should probably have an IPHONE and use that, but I do not... so this would work. But I hate that it is called "Mom Agenda" that just sounds so dorky. I think I will have to wear a bad sweatsuit when I use it.
I found this book on the shelves of the school library. I love it! In fact, this would make a great Valentines gift for any Mom. Wonderful illustrations and clever text make this a fun, quick read. Darrow liked the line about a Mom being a "modista" and "taxista". (Now you have to look those up. ) How many more uses can you think of ?
Can you believe that I buy these at Whole Foods ? I have taken laziness to a whole new level .
Tomorrow is the first day of school. I would not want to send my kids with lunch boxes tainted with lead...so they will be carrying lunch totes by Mimi The Sardine.The coated cotton is made in Sweden, the bags made right here in San Francisco. Safe and cute, and usually for sale at Whole Foods. Another great option, is offered by Lunchopolis. These eco friendly lunch boxes also come with re-usable, stackable plastic boxes and a water bottle. No need for plastic baggies and juice boxes. I have not seen these lunch boxes around town, so I will be ordering them from the company based in Southern California.
We took a family outing to the big Whole Foods, as Beckett calls, it in Los Altos. I went off to pick up some smoked turkey, and came back laughing. I found these napkins, and had to have David take a photo. I am sure he appreciated the sentiment. (But not enough to spend the 4.49 price tag. ) If you can not read it, the lovely housewife on the cocktail napkin is saying, "Food has replaced sex in my life, now I can't even get into my own pants". Nothing like a napkin to make you laugh. I think I need to get out of the house more often !
My friends keep telling me to sign up for Twitter. I tried, I could not, and really do not want to. I still do not know why anyone would want to know what I was doing all day...So I decided to keep track and do a sample twitter on VOX. Here it goes.

* Hanging out at Jill's for 1.5 hours, reading blogs and chatting about her cat. (Cat is old and sick.)
* Went back to art class. Beck went home with Jill
* Sat in car listening to N.P.R.
* Decided I had time for a Whole Foods run
* Picked up strawberries and other requested items
* Went to pick up Noah. He went home with Anna
* Went home, Checked e-mail.
*Now I need to pick up Beckett and Noah.
* Enjoying some Davero olive oil and baguette with Darrow. Could use a glass of wine
I will stop there...who needs to know my whereabouts . I just do not get Twitter.
Or Maybe I need a more exciting life !
I was reading my friends blog, and she had a link to a site called "True Mom Confessions ". I did not confess anything, so do not going looking for my juicy confessions. I think this an interesting concept-- like going to church to confess your sins. I just wonder how scandalous or scary the confessions will be. Will the site turn over IP addresses of Moms that confess to crimes ? It is nice to have another place to vent frustrations. Parenting is a tough job.
Here are my top three confessions :
1. I spend too much time online, ignoring my kids
2. I spend too much time shopping when I could be playing
3. I was a better Mom when I did not have a nanny !

Beckett and I went to Whole Foods to make our salads after Spanish class, as we do every Thursday. I am a devoted W. F. shopper, probably there once a day for something. I love the place. However, I was shocked today when Beckett's box of watermelon rang up at $7.35. I guess I should not let my five year old roam through the salad bar at W.F. anymore. I will be making his salad next week.
