I just started to read, "Bringing Home The Birkin Bag", by Michael Tonello. I had the joy of using a Birkin bag thanks to Bag Borrow or Steal. I had to go back and find the photos, and relive the few weeks that I felt like a celebrity, even when driving the minivan!
This is my favorite bag, my Marc Jacobs nylon tote. A pen leaked all over the bottom and has stained and destroyed it. I tried not to freak out too much in front of the kids, but I am sad. I tried using Shout wipes and made the stain larger, and stained my hands. Any ideas on how/ if there is a way to save my favorite bag ? The stain is all over the bottom... waah!

Handbags.com calls this "The holy grail of handbags. " The rich and famous carry them, or wait on lists to be able to pay thousands to own one. They do sell pleather knock offs on the streets of N.Y.C., but I will wait until I can carry the real thing. Until then, I am on a constant search for my perfect bag- any suggestions ?
I remember reading about this service- borrowing couture hand bags, but never actually saw the site. I love to shop, but this seems to take addictions to a whole new level. Who is paying 60 dollars a week to rent a Marc Jacobs bag, the girls from Sex and The City ? I love this bag, but for a few weeks of rental, it may be wiser to find a copy at a store like Banana Republic. Great bag. I will add this to my holiday wish list.
