I would post more photos, but my Iphone sucks...yes, it does! After the kids went to school, I did my typical run to Whole Foods, met Shalini for coffee, and hit the sale racks at Gap and J. Crew for some spring basics. Great deals at Gap! Now it is time for school pick ups, and swim team...and of course I spent too much time on Twitter.
I was in the Gap in San Francisco today, and found Product Red for kids. There was a great assortment of shirts, sweat shirts and, tank tops for babies and kids up to a size 12. Julian and Noah loved the styles, it is rare to find a style that they both agree upon. I picked up shirts for all of the kids, and we decided that they would wear these for our annual family photo on Cape Cod. According to the sales girl at Gap, these items will only be featured in select stores. There are a few choices online as well.
I received a few calls from friends yesterday urging me to rush to the GAP to check out their new designer limited edition merchandise. I was in the middle of school pick ups, so I did not go...but, when I saw the designs online, I knew I had to check them out. Many were already sold out. Luckily, I scored a few new pieces this morning. All of the designs were in white, and designed by the CFDA Vogue winners. These are up an coming designers. According to the sales woman at GAP, some of the items are already on EBAY. This is what I bought :
This is a dress that I will wear as a shirt. I think it is too short for someone may age to wear as a dress.
Both are well made, and do not look or feel like ordinary GAP merchandise. If you like white, and want to buy something from three designers that are sure to grace the pages of Vogue, head down to your local GAP now !
I am almost ashamed to admit, but some of my best Spring finds have been at Gap. Dresses are everywhere, and I love them. I have some great Theory dresses from years past. I was searching for a new Theory dress, and ended up buying a few Gap dresses. ( I tried on a Marc Jacobs and a Theory dress, but they did not look good enough to justify the price. ) I thought that I had outgrown the Gap, but some of their trend items have been great this season. I bought a beige shirt dress, and the grey dress pictured below. I also think that their ballet flats to continue to be great finds- just do not expect them to be comfortable at 39.99 ! I did not expect to still be shopping at the Gap.
I feel to old to be shopping at Gap. I am a big fan of their cute ballet flats. At Gap prices, I can add to my ballet flat collection without feeling too guilty. I have also worn their favorite t's for too many years, and love them. I do check out the racks for trend items. There is no point in spending alot of money on a style that I will wear for one season. So with a hint of Spring in the air, I decided to see what trend items I could find at Gap. There was quite a selection. Loved the dresses! The dress that I bought was not online- I looked for a photo. It is a thin strapped denim dress that I can use now with shirts and footless tights, and in the summer all by itself. I tried to buy the French cuff dress/ shirt, but only small sizes were left. (A reminder that I am too old and too big for Gap.) I will continue to check the racks, and mix my Gap finds with my more expensive investment pieces. Okay, the word piece seems a bit much, but...
I am sure that you are all familiar with the Gap Red Campaign. The campaign is quite admirable, and the money raised goes to fight aids in Africa. Raising awareness with Gap shoppers is a plus as well. I was trying to help the efforts, but had not idea what to purchase. I was torn between the "inspi-red " shirt, "desi-red", or "bo-red". What I really wanted was one that said "ti-red".
How's that for an impressive title...I found these fun little metallic flats at the Gap. You better run down there and pick some up, they are going fast. For only $39.50 you too can own a pair of trendy fall shoes. No need to make a big investment in trend items.
I miss Paris already. I am missing the long walks through my favorite city...even with my painful, swollen feet on the cobblestone paths. (Ok, aching swollen feet can not be compared to dealing with four kids--it is easier to limp than remember how to parent..) David and I managed to see many sights in a short amount of time. One common theme of the photos seems to be me sitting and resting...resting those aching feet.
