I am going to Paris next week. A Californian in Paris in December can be a total disaster. I want to be outfitted for all of the elements. I read that Paris could be wet and cold. I decided against my Alpaca wool coat, as I will end up smelling like a wet animal while strolling through town. In order to stroll, I must be warm and water proof. I believe I have found the solution, and it is even on sale. The only issue is that I do not look like a chic Parisian woman, I look like a marshmallow puff. I think I have to give up on fashion in order to stay warm. Just call me "Puffy P."

In my search for some more Lucky Fish shirts, I came across two sites that I love. I plan to write about them on Sf Baystyle, even though they are based in Rhode Island. The women behind the sites are Moms and designers with an amazing eye- they have put together an array of products that belongs in a Hayes Valley boutique. I have been able to discover new designers and artists, as well as purchase some hard to find items like my Lucky Fish shirts! Check out Non Chalant Mom and Orange Lola!
Gap does some great limited editions, and their Vote T-shirts are no exception. The shirts are available until election day..just get a sharpie and fill it in !

That is today's kid comment on me, or my outfit. Beckett thought my blown dry hair was too big, and they were all shocked that I had some blush and lipstick on.
My fashion police offer these comments in the most supportive of ways. They just seem to notice any change.

We have been taking photos against this wall at the art school. Today Darrow took this photo after exclaiming, "Mommy, I would wear that outfit.." So is that a compliment. I am wearing something that my eight year old daughter would wear. I also clearly need to wear sunglasses or I squint!

That was the latest comment from my very own fashion police squad. Beckett thinks I look like a boy scout with long hair. Maybe that is why this Marc Jacobs T was on the clearance rack!

After yesterday's fashion mishap, I decided to play it safe and subdued. My whole outfit, including painful, never to be worn again shoes, were made by Gap or Banana Republic.
The only kid commentary today was as to why I was wearing painful shoes. My answer, they are cute.

I bought these pants this past Spring at J.Crew. I thought they were fun and retro. I was looking for ways to vary my wardrobe a bit. I put them on this morning and scared the kids. They hated my pants, and did not want to be seen with me. Now that I look at the photo, I probably should have worn a different shirt, and shoes, or maybe some different pants...

This is my favorite bag, my Marc Jacobs nylon tote. A pen leaked all over the bottom and has stained and destroyed it. I tried not to freak out too much in front of the kids, but I am sad. I tried using Shout wipes and made the stain larger, and stained my hands. Any ideas on how/ if there is a way to save my favorite bag ? The stain is all over the bottom... waah!
