After months of complaining about rain- we have our California sun back. I opened the sun roof in my car, some windows in the house, and put on flip flops. This spring like weather may not last, February can still be quite winter like. In the meantime, I am going to enjoy the sun and stock up on springtime clothing. There was a run on shorts in the J. Crew store today. One warm day, and the summer clothes sells out. My Uggs have been placed in the back of my closet. I hope that I will not need them this week.
I am going crazy- rain wakes me up at night, makes driving and school pick ups a nightmare, makes my cashmere sweaters smell like an old goat. It makes everything a nightmare. I need sun to survive! There is no let up in sight. Time to build an ark . I need a get away. Nothing here is built for inclement weather. Except of course the new Whole Foods parking lot. That is about the only place in town that has covered parking. Good thing organic items rot daily, always need more! Even the local mall is all outside- rain may be the only thing to impede my ability to scour the J. Crew sale racks. I am hoping that the rain lets up enough for us to escape to Healdsburg for a family get away. Not likely ! I am living the Seattle life, wet, cold and soggy. Time for more coffee!
That is what the newscasters should be saying. Neighbors are covering their shrubs with blankets, and Californians are actually wearing socks. Not only am I wearing socks, but I find that I need cashmere socks to keep my feet warm.I do not want to leave my home. It is just too cold. This is no longer a cold snap, it has lasted much longer than a snap. This seems to be our weather this winter. I am using my "tahoe clothes" to stay warm. The only thing that seems to make a difference is cashmere- socks, sweaters, gloves and scarves. God bless cashmere.
It is rainy here in sunny California. Really raining, big drops, puddles are forming. Like most Californians, I need sun to survive. I am not a happy woman in the rain. (Especially when I was just in sunny Hawaii 24 hours ago. ) I need my gear...and look what I found to add some cheer to dark rainy days, fun LL Bean boots. If I did not have to run to my car in the rain to get my purse I would be ordering them right now. So please do not order the last pair in my size.
