Two of my favorite things, books and coffee. Julian and I stopped by Books Inc., and the Mayfield Bakery. I am loving the new and improved Town and Country shopping center.

I am obsessed with Michael Pollan after hearing him on NPR....and missed seeing him at Stanford this past Monday.
So I bought two of his books. I am trying hard to be a locavore, and eat all organic, wonder what else I will have to do.
In honor of the birthday of Dr.Seuss, Darrow's class had green eggs and ham. I read some books, but did not partake in the feast. The green coloring is a natural one according to the Mom that made the eggs. The kids really enjoyed being read to, those books have a magical quality and appeal.

I found this book on the shelves of the school library. I love it! In fact, this would make a great Valentines gift for any Mom. Wonderful illustrations and clever text make this a fun, quick read. Darrow liked the line about a Mom being a "modista" and "taxista". (Now you have to look those up. ) How many more uses can you think of ?
I just started an amazing book, "Helping Me Help Myself". I can not put it down. I want to be the author's best friend. She is genuine, warm and sarcastic, a perfect blend. Go buy a copy, or borrow mine. I should be done in a day or so.
Noah was home sick today. He re-discovered one of my all time favorite books, The Giving Tree.
This book made me cry as a kid. Now my kids are enjoying this beautiful tale.
