Tomorrow is the first day of school. I would not want to send my kids with lunch boxes tainted with lead...so they will be carrying lunch totes by Mimi The Sardine. The coated cotton is made in Sweden, the bags made right here in San Francisco. Safe and cute, and usually for sale at Whole Foods. Another great option, is offered by Lunchopolis. These eco friendly lunch boxes also come with re-usable, stackable plastic boxes and a water bottle. No need for plastic baggies and juice boxes. I have not seen these lunch boxes around town, so I will be ordering them from the company based in Southern California.
I love Olive Juice ! The designs are classic and fun. The clothes wears and washes well. The only issue is will Darrow wear these beautiful dresses ?
I have fallen back in love with J. Crew. ( I wrote about it on my other blog.) Their fall designs are wonderful.
Check out their kids line, Crew Cuts. I am hoping that Darrow will do some back to school shopping at J.Crew. I wonder if she would wear this great dress for the first day of school ...
Agatha Ruiz de la Prada's whimsical , modern designs are great for kids. I have had a hard time finding the clothing here in the U.S, but did see it while in Spain. A few years ago, University Art in Palo Alto carried her back packs. I just found this adorable back pack for Darrow on Oliebollen.
I am starting to think my daughter has enough for fall...but how cute is the new fall/winter line from Tea Collection. I met the creators of Tea a few years ago- they created the line right here in Palo Alto. Now only if they would create clothes for adults. This is what my daughter will be wearing...but this is not typical Tea, but Tea that she will wear.
I survived my kids first day at school, and so did they. I made the mistake of wearing new shoes to walk my daughter to school- blisters. I have spent the last week back to school shopping. I have found all kinds of fun things for my daughter at boutiques, Nordstrom, Gap and Target. This outfit is one of my favorites. All from the Target Fall 2006 collection. Tomorrow I head to SF to see what I can find at ZARA for the kids.
After a long vacation, I have returned to stacks of catalogs. Most of them have found their way to the recycling bag. I sat down with my daughter to do a bit of back to school catalog shopping. I found many great school clothes in Hanna Andersson, Mini Boden, and Garnet Hill. My daughter's tastes are a bit too pre-teen like for me...she wants to look like Hillary Duff. Guess we will be doing our shopping at Target and Gap. I really wish I could still dress her, look at these cool pants from Garnet Hill.
