I am taking my sister out to dinner in SF next Saturday- any suggestions. I wanted to go to Delfina, but the only time available was 5:30... I am allergic to dairy, fish ,and nuts, and she is a vegetarian. Where would you go ? I am also thinking of Oola... Open table here I come!

After a great vegan Indian lunch at the farmers market, we went into SF. Our destination was the Legion Of Honor to see the Annie Leibowitz exhibit. It appeared to be a popular mothers day choice, no parking to be found. So we drove through the Presidio, and to Fort Mason, where there was an SF MOMA artist gallery warehouse sale. The kids got to see some really great art by up and coming artists. Seeing art helped us to decide to head over to the MOMA. (The kids did also vote for shopping in Union Square. I was too jet lagged to do that. ) Then we went to my sister's house in Noe Valley, where we all had a great Thai dinner.

I was amused by the bike messenger casual look of the SF Bear- he could be a lawyer, a VC or work at a start up in his outfit. I am wondering if other city bears are dressed more formally....

No photos of monuments or exotic lands- I am home. Back to car pool, Whole Foods and frozen yogurt. I am jet lagged and overwhelmed by my own life. I can not wait for my next Europe trip, hope there will be one. Will my in laws babysit again ?

Woke up early to go on a tour of Terezin. On our way to meet the tour we miraculously happened upon the National Gallery that we had been searching for yesterday (not worth the search).
Slow start to a rainy day. After a block in the rain, we turned back to the hotel to catch a taxi to the Prague National Museum. Two problems. One, the National Museum is closed on the first Tuesday of every month. And two, we didn't actually want to go to the National Museum, we wanted to go to the National Gallery. So after a few minutes in the pouring rain pondering our options, we headed underground to brave Prague's subway system. Small problem number three, we never actually figured out how to pay for the underground. Good thing we weren't stopped by the police.
We did find our way back on the subway thanks to David's impressive navigating skills. The rain subsided. And we headed to the old Jewish quarter. We don't have any photos because it was too depressing to photograph -- tens of thousands of names of murdered Jews from Prague were written on the temple wall. There were no Horniks, but there were Hornigs and Gorniks. And lots and lots of Julius's -- reminded us of Julian.
The afternoon was spent wandering the city, combating the elements.
We tried to do some shopping but were not particularly successful. Not even a shopaholic like myself could come up with much to buy.
On our way back to the hotel we finally found the Franz Kafka memorial (very strange). Tomorrow we are taking a tour of Terezin. Not sure if we'll be in the mood for a concert when we return, but we have tickets to the Prague Symphony.
We arrived in Prague after midnight and got a late start to the day. First things first, I found a cafe that actually had soy milk.
Started the day with my baguette and coffee. David packed up. Today is our last day in Paris.
